FAQ

Still have questions?

What does the "A" in RGBA mean?

Alpha - the transparency channel. It's a value from 0 (fully transparent) to 1 (fully opaque) added on top of the same red, green and blue used in RGB.

How do I input RGB values into this converter?

Enter R, G, B separately, or paste a whole string like rgb(255,128,64) or rgba(255,128,64,0.5) into the first field - it splits into the right places automatically, alpha included.

Can I preview how the transparency will actually look?

Yes - switch the preview background between checkered, white and dark above the color box, so you can see exactly how the alpha value composites over each surface.

Does this tool store or upload my colors?

No. Every conversion happens locally in your browser. Nothing you type, pick or slide is sent to a server.

Can I get a HEX or HSLA value with the same alpha?

Yes - the output grid shows HEX, 8-digit HEX8, RGB, RGBA, HSLA and a HEX + opacity fallback for older CSS, all sharing the same alpha value, all click-to-copy.
