Click the button, hover anywhere - this tab, another app, your desktop - and grab the exact color under your cursor.
Tip: press P anytime to pick again
Your browser doesn't support the EyeDropper API yet (that's Safari and Firefox, for now). Use the image picker below instead - it works everywhere.
Everything runs in your browser - no colors are ever uploaded
Drop a screenshot, paste one with Ctrl/Cmd + V, or upload a file - then click anywhere on it to sample the exact pixel color.
Not just this page - sample a color from any open app, image or your desktop background.
The picked color appears as HEX, RGB, RGBA, HSL, CMYK and HSV, side by side.
Click any code after picking and it's copied instantly, with a quick confirmation.
Built into your browser - no extension, no sign-up, no limit on how often you pick.
No EyeDropper API there, so we fall back to a drop/paste image picker with a live magnifier - most tools just stop working.
Every pick shows its closest color name plus WCAG contrast against white and black text.
Your last picks stay in a history strip on this device, so you can grab an older color again in one click.
Your cursor turns into a magnifier so you can see individual pixels up close.
This tab, another window, even outside the browser - click on any pixel to sample it.
HEX, RGB, HSL and more appear instantly - tap any one to copy it.
It's a browser feature that lets a webpage temporarily turn your cursor into a color sampler, so you can click any pixel on your screen and read back its exact color.
Chrome, Edge, Opera and most other Chromium-based browsers support it. Safari and Firefox don't have it yet - you'll see a notice above if yours isn't supported.
Yes. Once picking is active, you can click on any visible pixel on your screen - another app, an image, your desktop - not just this page.
No. It's a built-in browser capability. There's nothing to install and no permission prompt beyond the picking itself.
No. The color you sample stays in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Safari and Firefox don't support it yet, so this page automatically switches to an image-based picker: drop, paste or upload a screenshot and click any pixel to sample it, with the same HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK and HSV output.
Your recent picks are kept only in your own browser's local storage so you can revisit them, and are never sent to a server. You can clear that history anytime with one click.
