ColorPickee is a free toolkit of color converters and utilities that run entirely in your browser - no sign-up, no uploads, no watermarks. Here's the short version of why it exists.
ColorPickee began as a handful of personal scripts. Every project seemed to need the same five conversions - HEX to RGB, RGB to HSL, a quick contrast check - and every time, that meant opening a different tab, squinting at ads, or copy-pasting values into a design tool just to get one number. We got tired of it and built a single page that did the conversion instantly, with no clutter around it.
That one page turned into a handful, then into the full set of 27 tools you see today, covering every color format a designer or developer is likely to run into: HEX, RGB, RGBA, HSL, HSLA, HSV, CMYK, LAB, decimal and named CSS colors, plus an eyedropper, a palette generator and a contrast checker.
Front-end developers pulling a color out of a mockup, designers building a palette, students learning how color spaces relate to each other, or anyone who just needs to know what #7C3AED looks like in RGB - ColorPickee is built for quick, one-off lookups as much as for repeated daily use.
Every conversion runs client-side in your browser. Colors you type or pick are never sent to, or stored on, a server.
No account, no paywalled formats, no watermarks on exported palettes. Every tool is free to use as often as you like.
No sign-in walls, no interstitials. Land on a page, get your value, copy it, move on with your work.
Conversions follow standard color-space formulas, including the caveats - like CMYK's lack of a single fixed standard - spelled out where they matter.
ColorPickee is maintained by a small team of designers and front-end developers. We ship new tools and fixes gradually, guided mostly by what people ask for - a missing conversion, a confusing label, a format we hadn't thought of. If something on the site is wrong, slow, or missing, we'd genuinely like to hear about it.
